Deleting your Traty account
Updated: 29 September 2026
This page explains how to delete a Traty account together with all of its data. Deletion is irreversible.
1. If the app is installed
Settings → Delete account. The app asks you to confirm it is you — with your password, or by consenting again at your sign-in provider — and then deletes everything listed below straight away.
An owner's deletion is refused while their household exists: it has to be disbanded first, so the shared base does not disappear for the other members without their knowing. Disbanding is in the same place: Settings → Household.
2. If the app is already off your phone
Write to contact@traty.app from the address the account is registered to, saying that you are asking for it to be deleted. Checking the sender's address is what keeps someone else's account from being deleted on request.
We will delete the data and answer within the period the GDPR sets — no later than one month, usually within a few days. If you own a household and someone else is still in it, it passes to one of the remaining members instead of being disbanded, so its shared base stays intact for them. If you are its last member, the household is deleted along with you.
3. Deleting data without closing the account
You do not have to close the account to get rid of data.
A single receipt is deleted in the app: open it and use Delete. The receipt goes at once, with everything in it — merchant, date, totals, items. The account and the other receipts stay as they were. A receipt that belongs to a household's shared base can be deleted by any of its members, and it goes for everyone.
Everything at once, or a part of it, can be asked for by writing to contact@traty.app from the address the account is registered to: say what you want removed — all receipts, a particular month, the name that came from a Google sign-in. We will do it and answer within the period the GDPR sets, no later than one month and usually within a few days. The account itself stays, and you can keep using the app.
There is no single button that wipes every receipt at once; deletion in the app is receipt by receipt. That is what the address above is for.
4. What is deleted
- The account and its sign-in data: the email address, and for a Google sign-in the name.
- Every receipt in your personal area: merchant, date, totals, items, categories.
- The paid-tier record and your personal recognition allowance counters — not at once, but on their own: the daily and monthly counters at the end of their period, the free-recognition counter and the paid-tier record 30 days after the deletion, so that deleting an account cannot be used to reset the free allowance or a subscription's limits.
5. What is not deleted, and why
- Receipts you entered into a household stay in that household's shared base and remain visible to its other members: they belong to the shared base, not to their author. To take your history with you, leave the household before deleting the account — a voluntary departure returns a copy of your receipts to your own history.
- The per-device free-allowance counter. It is tied to neither your name nor your address, and it exists so the free allowance cannot be reset by creating another account on the same phone.
- A note that your purchase was released, for 35 days, in place of the link between the purchase and your account. It lets a new account restore the purchase, with that month's use carried over.
- The record of what recognition cost. Your account identifier is replaced in it by a marker, so what remains is a cost with nobody attached to it.
